THE LAUNCH OF A BRAND NEW PROGRAMME OF FACTORY NIGHTS & UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2011-2012…
Now in its 3rd year, Factory Nights continues to be an innovative approach to commissioning art and inspiring collaboration. Factory Nights are experimental and spontaneous creative sessions for groups of creative people and are held in interesting spaces or ‘hidden gems’. Each Factory Night is completely different depending on the mix of attendees and the venue. People who attend are encouraged to get out of the session what they need whether that is making new contacts, gathering research on the venue, sharing current ideas or gaining feedback them.
The Factory Nights events are being held in interesting venues throughout West Midlands, North East and have even been delivered in India and Peru during Nov 2011. There are also travel bursaries available to artists who want to attend Factory Nights from outside the region/s. After each Factory Night, attendees can apply to the Unique Opportunities fund for bursaries to conduct research residencies, a collaboration, or production of a new work all which respond to the Factory Night venue.
rednile have launched a FACTORY OUTLET on www.etsy.com to sell limited edition work produced during the Factory Nights programme and are also delivering FACTORY IDEAS, a twitter project which involves tweeting a new idea every day for 1 year. See our homepage for more info.
As in past Factory Nights programmes, a publication and evaluation will also be produced which will be available to view online.
